Happy New Year

Hope you all have a safe and fun New Years Eve tomorrow. Damien and Cheryl visited to say goodbye this morning on their way home. They've booked into Bordertown tonight. The motel has a pool they'll make use of.
Nana and Auntie Denise didn't get to Shep on Wednesday. Josie was sick. Since they were ready to go, they went shopping instead. They went to Shep on Thursday and had a nice day. Jodie took her (Chris's) car and then headed home to Melbourne.
Damien told me Lisa was sick today, so they didn't see her when they went to say bye. I rang to offer to have Carolynn and Jared but Adam said they were being great helpers. Hope no one else succumbs.
We had a quiet day here, laundry, floor washing and Dad put up the rest of our lights. The ants are busy again. Will it rain? It is in Canberra and Melbourne but not in Bendigo where it's needed.
I'm making sweet and sour pork stir fry for tea. That has used up the christmas leftovers before new year.
Lots of love to you all. We're thinking of you.
Love from Mum and Dad

  1. Happy New Year back to you too.

Glad to hear that Chrissy celebrations all went well.

We had a lovely time here too.. we had a BBQ for Christmas lunch (cooked on the balcony by Glenn) which was really tasty! We had BBQ'd corn on the cob, carrots, asparagus, prawn skewers (with mushrooms, tomatoes and capsicum), home-made hamburgers (that Dee made from scratch), and salads - lots of tasty food.

For dessert we had berry trifle - I cheated and made it with pre-made custard but it was still very tasty (and sugary). We all wanted (and had) a snooze after lunch. *grin*

Not really sure what New Year's celebrations I'll get involved in this year. I DO want to see the fireworks, but no other requirements.

Hope everyone else is good (and has some good parties lined up).

  2. It was tasty ... even if some of your delicious prawn kebabs were more charcoal than food by the time I was finished with them. And the trifle - veeeeeeeery good!

We've been extremely 'festive' this year - even had a 'beer tasting and XBOX playing' last night. (The highlight was a lager called 'la chouffe' - delicious and very strong, 8%!!)

There's an International parade tonight that we might check out, too. Fun!

    Happy Birthday, Max!

  3. We're back home! The drive was good, especially that last bit going down the hills into Adelaide. That road is fun :) We didn't end up using the pool last night. The weather was a bit cooler than we had expected, and it was quite windy (the wind really picked up during the early morning).
Right now we're putting away our luggage & thinking about heading to the supermarket. My brother and his family will be arriving tomorrow, so we've got to get organised already :) Unfortunately our washing machine didn't magically repair itself while we were gone, so we might have to make a trip to the laundromat.
    Happy New Year to everyone!

  4. It all sounds delicious.
Glad to hear Damien and Cheryl had a good trip home.
    Lots of love to all
    Mum and Dad
