and now the Torana

Had a visit from Ted Smith again to see the Torana. He brought his son to advise me although they aren't interested themselves.
He said to keep the plates as being original is a bonus and the car still having original books, mileage and a known history is all to the good. I should ask $13000 and certainly not settle for less than $10000, even without a roadworthy.
He said to advertise in Just Cars which I can do online for about $30. Ebay isn't a good idea as you get cranks and bogus offers.
Good to have the advice. A couple of people ( at the carwash and battery place)have asked if it was for sale but with no price mentioned. I think over $10000 would put them off.
Ted commented that if Barb and Rudi had said no to the Buick, the other man there would have pulled out his chequebook.

Buick is sold

The Buick has been sold to Mrs Rohde's daughter and her husband. No quibble on the $10000.They are going away for several weeks so won't be collecting until May but will pay me sooner.
Might need a working bee to tidy the shed after they take it.
Possible interest in the Torana from Ted so when we get it going I'll let him know.

Other decluttering. Does anyone want the organ kept? I'll ask Denise if they're interested. If not, any ideas on getting rid of it. The op shop who would collect it are the final idea.
Also does anyone want the children's videos kept?

Working well.
I rang Len to let him know it's gone. They lost some roofing on their house last week in the storm so are busy with that.

Engagement

Exciting news last night at Denise's 60th birthday. Chris and Emma announced their engagement. Wedding will be 31st March ( not clashing with my Red Hat Goldrush or my trip to Wales) in Sassafras since that is only 20 mins from home for them. She flashed the bling to let us know. Nanna was prepared and we chose a gift and made a card this morning, then went to Denise's.
I spent the night at Nanna's because my car had been showing a red battery (which the RACV man this morning told me meant the battery wasn't charging). Problem is a shredded alternator belt. Solution is to take it to a garage. I'll ring tomorrow to see if that will be to the RACV or to Col's. The RACV will tow it regardless. It's at Nanna's so I might need to uncover the Torana if I need wheels, or I might get plenty of walking happening.
Frustrating since the vaccuum has also thrown a belt (maybe more) I found the directions so might try taking that apart and then I'd just need a new belt.(once I have a car to go get it)

The Jeep

Glenn backed out of the drive and they headed for Cohuna to show the car to Trish. They'll stay up there a couple of days. Glenn's former boss has contacted him, so job prospects look good.
House hunting or holidays next.
