Ok, so there's still a lot of stuff to be done, papers to be signed and the like, but the real estate agent just called and said Cheryl and I have got the house we bid on! Woo! You can see the place here. Tomorrow we meet the agent and sign the contract. Then we have to get a building inspector in to check it over (the contract is subject to inspection) and our mortgage broker will be sorting out the finance for us.
It's all very exciting and more than a little scary.
wow!!!
ReplyDeleteblown away. place looks great.
you guys are all grown up now..
..can't say the same for me. *grin*
congrats - i look forward to seeing it next time i visit.
*hugz*
Awesome! Well done!
ReplyDelete... of course, like Dayna we are rich in experience rather than money ;-) so no new house for us.
ReplyDeleteJust to give you all an update, we've signed the contracts, met with the conveyancer, and things are rapidly falling into the realm of other people's responsibility. The conveyancer will contact Adam, our broker, who's working to get the finance sorted, and they'll both liase with the agent. So now it's a bit of a waiting game until the finance is ready.
ReplyDeleteThe suggested settlement is December 21. We'd like to go earlier if possible, but that's probably going to be it. Which means we can either try to organise removalists, carpet cleaning and dropping off keys on the weekend before Christmas, or we can pay $300 for another two weeks at the rental place, go to bendigo and then when we get back have a week to sort it all out.
Those are our options, and we'll see how we go in working them out.
