the removal dudes turned up on wednesday morning.. but they were running late because they couldn't find the place, which meant that i was late for some team training that we were running that day.. not happy about that - but at least i've got a couch now.. and a bed (that i've not put up yet..) and bookcases and shelves and a real fridge (rather than a little bar fridge). yay!
i cleaned the fridge out on wednesday afternoon - it was pretty gross.. i think it had been off and in the garage for a while, but i'm not sure. anyway, i've cleaned away the mould, got rid of the traces of food still in the shelving and stuff (i think they just took their food out of it and didn't clean it.. grrrr).. and it's all happy now.
so, my time over the next
and now i've got to get to work - second day of driver training.. woohoo..

Cool, glad you've got some furniture, you can start feeling like you have a "real" home :)
ReplyDeleteI would love to come and help, but I don't know how we'll get there, not to mention that I have 3 hinderances (Trinity is ok when she can see me) and I needed mum to help with Jared's room y'day :)
Anyway, hope to catch you on-line (that goes for everyone btw)
Glad to hear the furniture has arrived. I tried to ring on Wednesday night but the phone was busy. Today we found a plumber so the kitchen progresses.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you'll be all unpacked by the time we get up there again (maybe February?)By then you'll know if it's all there!
thinking of you.
Love
Mum
Is that our fridge? If so, you can't growl at us for not cleaning it -- that was the deal!! You can't possibly expect us to have cleaned stuff that was LEAVING the flat ... we barely cleaned the flat enough for our bond! :-P
ReplyDelete(Was it really that stinky? We usually kept the fridge pretty clean. But timeout in a shed wouldn't help.)
Glad to hear you are settling in. We're hoping to move to a bigger flat this year too, but we'll probably end up carrying stuff in backpacks and whatnot (the only things we've actually bought are books from the local second-hand bookshop).
hey glenn and dee, i'm not growling at you guys.. tim and jess were using the fridge between when you left and *shrug* maybe last month or something.. it's them i'm grrring at.
ReplyDelete*smile* *hug* i'm happy that you guys were good enough to donate your furniture to me (even if you didn't know that was how it was going to pan out). ;)
i'm not sure whether i've told everyone or not, but Stuart, one of my friends, has moved in.. he's away most of the time (he coordinates one of the other Q Outreach programmes), so it's like having a visitor when he's here.. and he pays rent all the time. woohoo. *grin* he's here this weekend to help unpack boxes.. current count is 12 little ones unpacked! (but all over the kitchen bench.. i've got to wash the crockery before putting it away). slowly slowly..
and i've already got two (little) boxes for St Vinnies.. *grin* i'm fighting the pack-rat and cleaning stuff out! yay! but don't anyone dare give me glasses or crockery as a present - for at least the next 10 years! *grin* i've got more than enough...
