What we have been doing
In response to Carolynn's question, the coolest thing we did was go to Marion and happen across this odd stage show with Donatello and Shredder dancing together. We were there to get me a new phone.. my old one kept dying, and the new one was free on a 2 year plan with three. I'm told they're a really good phone provider. Plus now i can make video calls, as well as standards like taking photos of random stage shows.
For our anniversary we booked a night in a hotel on Glenelg, right at the beach. It was a really nice evening, so we ate outside one of the Italian places and generally enjoyed the ocean breeze :) We also got a free buffet breakfast the next day, and I learned if you try to put an entire croissant through one of those conveyor belt type sandwich toasters it sets it on fire. I'd feel bad but not ten minutes later somebody else did it too :)

Our Busy Easter
I thought it was about time I put up some photos from Easter. I don't have them all on this computer, but here is a selection from Easter Monday at the Procession.
Here's the Lion Team before the Procession.
We all know who this is right!
I can't remember the name of this dragon, we call it the gold dragon. I think it is Ming or Ping, one is carried by males and one by females.
This is one of the new lions. I just think this is a great photo.
Jared says he was under one of the red and silver ones, so I will have to find some more photos... I also have some from the Awakening where Jared was a monk for the junior performance, so will have to upload them later as well. :)

Sword arts and Illustration
I had my Shodan grading last night. I think I went ok - Shihan picked me up on a couple of small things, but some students got a half hour talking to after their grading, so i think anything less that that is a plus. He kind of threw me - I had trained for 8 kata, and after I did those he asked for another one which I hadn't been practicing. No idea how I did with that one :S
I've also started a new blog (shhh.. don't tell the family bandwagon blog).. it's on blogger as well, and it's somewhere for me to post illustrations that I've done. I'm hoping to get the occasional comment for stuff I put up. You can see it here. I'll keep posting my old work on there as well until I run out :)
In health news I've had a cold for the last four or five days, but it seems to be improving. Cheryl didn't catch it although I don't know how. Unfortunately last night my tooth started to hurt, and so I have slept very little.. I'm hoping to see a dentist today. As soon as possible.
So there you have it - the three pillars of a post from Damien. Achievement, Inspiration, and Tragedy.
;)

Lunch!
Damien & I tried out a new burger place today, and I got this soft shell crab burger. We thought it looked pretty impressive so I took a photo. Isn't it cool?! It was an entire crab, with rocket, roasted parsnip and a coriander-peanut sauce. It was delicious! And because the crab is soft-shelled you can eat the whole thing. Yum! Damien got a duck burger, which had sweet potato, rocket and yam sauce (it tasted good but didn't look as good as mine ;).
The burger place was on Glenelg beach, so while we were out there we went to the cinema & saw 'TMNT' (I'll let Damien talk about that one). Yesterday we saw another movie, '300', at a different cinema in gold class. It was the first time we had been to gold class, and it was great! So luxurious! :) We were served nachos & scones during the movie, and the rest of the time enjoyed the reclining chairs. It's not something we will do often, but I'm looking forward to going again :)

Happy Easter from me too..
I don't have a funky video, but I DO have a picture of a giant bee!
This is one of the sculptures at the Eden Project in Cornwall. I spent a good morning there. We left early and arrived around opening time which meant we got to wander around the site and the biomes (big dome things - see below) without a crowd. The weather was gorgeous for wandering around the natural "museum" (big fancy garden).
I had a beautifully relaxing Easter. Apart from the long drive (left the car hire place at 9am, got into Fowey at around 6pm.. traffic was okay - very slow in some parts though.. and i DID have a stop at Ikea so we have more than two pans for cooking!) I didn't have to run around for anything. I spent quite a bit of time sitting in the English sun - making the most of the (slightly) warmer weather down south.
Good to read (and watch) everyone else's posts - keep them coming! And photos too if you have any - I'm afraid I forgot to get any pictures of me this Easter.. but I've got a lot of beaches and flowers (click here here to go to my Easter 2007 Flickr set). :)
